David, did you buy your locus cable cryogenically frozen? I recall that was their main selling point while Lee (RIP) was still at Locus Designs. I did a brochure for them on that feature.
tbh vladimir i really cant remeber it was about 10 years ago i bought them from a company called angel sound , i bought two cables called necleus.

Nevertheless, they are CryoFreeze treated to align the copper crystals properly, with ERS fiber jacket to repell RFI. Quite innovative USB cable back in its day, exotica even by today's standards.
hi vladimir thet are not usb cables they are mains cables.david

Yes, but I'm pointing out that Locus Design was a audiophile USB cable pioneer. Pixie dust was sprinkled on mains cables long before USB.

My favourite mains cables are the ones hard wired into my equipment.

I'd rather have a decently thick hardwired mains cable than the best cable in the world with an IEC connector at one end and a UK type 3 pin plug at the other.

Come on Drummerman are you really that board or are you wanting to gang up on TrevC because he appears to be the worst when it comes to ramming home his opinion and being patronising without seemingly being aware of it. I'm sure he's not that self centered that he just likes to belittle people for their belifes?

I've given up with these arguments as they only show how aweful some people can be and I mean that from both side of this mass debate and I hate seeing people get wound up including myself in the past over things that are just silly.

I'ts king of gone beyond funny now. I'm all up for trying to get some members to be a little more gental with new members. You do appear to be rather vexed by the arguments or you just like to stir the pot once in a while. I don't know.

We won't *****, we just think you're stupid.

One of these days you'll post something which will make me think ... perhaps I misjudged you.

I never ram home my opinion. Find just one example of me doing that.

Don't insult us. Do you honestly think everyone is suffering from some kind of false memory syndrome regarding your behaviour?

And before you use that to 'paint' me as some glassy eyed, foo worshipping believer in the mystical properties of boutique cables, it might help to know that I agree almost 100 percent with the factual/technical content of what you say.

It's just that you are 35 - 40 years late to an argument that got boring before the Web even existed! It's older than CD vs vinyl. It's pre-####ing Cambrian (only nowhere near as interesting and - sadly - not as extinct.)

Give it up.

'Tw*t' and 'stupid' already in first 2 pages. Well done Drummerman!

*biggrin* I think Drummerman wins :) Hats off to him, he's probably wetting himself wherever he may be :)

Not really. Whilst I enjoy a good banter, insulting each other doesn't do much for me (and I have been guilty of that too in the past. Made me feel as bad as it perhaps did the person it was directed at).

I'd happily have a beer with Trev, Anderson (or whoever he is this week), Vlad etc etc.

Now back to the lovely subject of mains cables please :)

Why?

I recommended something I use throughout my systems.

Its not even expensive :)

Just wait for my next thread ... 'mains conditioners' ... :)

The final chapter of the trilogy? Or am I too optimistic (since it's friday 'n'all)?

EDIT: No, wait! Hifi racks! Of course.*fool*

I only ever ram the facts home. You won't be able to find a post where I rammed my opinion home.

40 years ago? Nah. There was none of this mains interconnect wire voodoo claptrap around then.

No, that'll be 'anti vibration supports for solid state equipment'

Nah, that one will be short-lived... You should've started separate threads on interconnects and speaker cables. But it's too late now...

I don't mean to be rude, Trev, but IMO part of the effect of these pebbles might be in your imagination! I'm glad you're open-minded though! Now, which sticky tape would be best to stick them to the interconnects?*wink*

Somewhere I still have a 3 pin mains plug that my old NAD 3130 was wired up with that has the magical little sticky black triangle on it. I've moved house several times since and cannot find it. Gutted.

Meantime, I like your suggestion of bling applique, and I'd thought of running some kind of silver line mains cabling and conditioning equipment at specially selected nodal positions, in the style of a model railway set running around my lounge on an elevated mezzanine arrangement. It would provide a conversation piece for visitors so they could be distracted from listening to my crap taste in music. Judicial positioning of some flashing LEDs in time with the kick drum would enhance the ambience too!
