There have been a couple of "slight seconds" RP6 on eBay recently — but have been put off buying such things by this thread.

I was waiting for some to become available but — hmmmm — only if I can see it first I think.

Don't let my experience put you off, others on here have received perfect turntables.

Just make sure that the seller has good feedback, and most importantly, will accept returns should you have a problem.

What do you mean?

I went to collect it - all fine

Not having much luck am I.

The Concept arrived today, but unfortunately the seller didn't pack it as described in the online manual, and now there are two puncture marks in the platter which were caused by the turntables very sharp feet.

I've emailed him, and await his response, but I'm really not sure what to do.

Should I try to get a partial refund? Should I return the turntable for a full refund? Should I suggest that the seller buys me a replacement platter?

Obviously this is all dependent on what the seller says, but I would like to know your opinions.

Full refund too. I would try going the shop route again.

Full refund.

But he's not going to refund the postage cost both ways, and as it cost me £34 to get the deck here, I could well be £50-£60 out of pocket.

Paypal will be on your side, so you will get ypour money back!

Perhaps you should just bite the bullet and buy a new TT - Just get an RP3 - it has lots of upgrade potential!

I really would not buy another off eBay - as said previously I sold my RP3 on eBay but I repacked it the Rega way and buyer was 100% happy!

You really have had some bad luck!

This is making me angry (not you, this bloody clown you are dealing with).

Photograph the damage, make sure ebay is fully aware of how it was caused (by negligent packing of a precision item) and try and get them to chuck the book at him if he does anything less than refund in full, including all return P&P charges.

He hasn't responded yet, but as he didn't actually mark the turntable as dispatched, or notify me, he's obviously not big on communication.

I've taken some good photos, which I might try to upload here (if anyone would like to see the damage that is).

He packed everything well, but he placed the platter the wrong way up, and he didn't turn the feet back.

I'm so tempted to keep the turntable, as everything else seems perfect (though I haven't attempted to use it), but I'm worried that this could have caused other unseen damage, and may cause problems inthe long run.

I can not believe my luck.

BBB! what do you have to do, Agree with Chebby and Gel. Take the photos and if need be, go through Paypal. If he's packed it incorrectly then you're covered. It's insured so you should be covered either way 😛ray:

its a tricky one this is!

If he is at fualt then surely the insurance wont pay out!

How much is a new platter?

Ask him to refund you for a new platter on the presumption that the TT is fine!

Hope you get it sorted (again)

Did you get your refund from MA?

From professional experience, insurance companies will assume that if the original packaging has been used then the courier has caused the damage, even if the box is not damaged itself.

Hi

Stop whining and open a case report on ebay on the grounds of not as described, the seller will refund you on 100% + shipping costs( to you) yes you'll have to pay the shipping costs back!

And go out with the refund and buy a NEW TT Rega or what ever!
