Interesting to note that the new Nokias launched only yesterday has no mention in the news section, while the rumours of upcoming iPhone 5 have been published today....

The cynic in you might just be overthinking things.
TBH, having looked at all the Nokia press material, it all seems very much US-focused, though I gather they (or Microsoft) did take some European journalists to New York to cover the event. Whereas the Apple launch is very much a global announcement, with events being held around the world.
Or something like that...

Surely if it's all over the net, there's less reason for covering it?

The iPhone event is likely to include new iPods - music players not phones - and therefore naturally of more interest than the Nokia announcement. |(

And I am sure when we have a chance to get our hands on the product, rather than just reading the same press handouts being retreaded all over the Internet, we will have a take on the new phones and their operating system, and how well they play music and video, which is really what we're all about.
