Question All 4K Blu-ray players have the same picture and sound unless the player is doing something it’s not supposed to do

All players, all hi-fi even, do something it's not supposed to do, and that's reduce quality. So the very best get almost all the detail off the disc, while further down the scale we have items that cut corners.

It states this on my Panasonic ub400 review on AVForums see here:

For me it seems louder than my previous player like the Oppo 203, does that mean the player is somehow making it louder, or you simply turn it down a bit with the amp remote and problem solved? What’s making it louder?
I think I should clarify the statement seems to sound louder, it’s about 5-10 db louder on the Panasonic, than an Oppo 203 and the Sony 700 is about 5 db quieter than an Oppo 203. Which makes it seem like there are differences in sound quality.

In WHF reviews the state the Panasonic 820 is loud which I would concur with my findings and they say the Sony 700 is quiet which again concurs with what I have found.
