PMC SPEAKERS PRICE INCREASE

Hi folks,

Just been and demoed PMC FB1i which was on my list to listen and maybe purchase but-

1) I still find this speaker abit bright and aggressive at the top end, and this was with the MF £3,000 250WATT intergrated amp, and the A1 CD PRO which isnt bright. It was nicely open but I couldnt live with that top end, in fact it made a couple of my c.ds unplayble !!

2) The dealer told me that PMC had put these speakers up £200 from today , oh well now I will listen to Spendor A6, and the new PRO AC D18 hopefully these prices wont go up just yet, but I am not holding my breath.

I think you'll see a lot of price increases even on British-made goods, as the price of components will be affected by exchange rates as much as the prices of finished goods imported into the UK.

The £200 increase you mention is a littlle over 10% - way short of some of the price rises said to be on the way from some of the major Japanese electronics companies.
