Damit, Spotify. Artist: Ane Brun / Album: Songs Tour 2013 (Live) / Track 14: These Days
Is this track on this album as compressed as the rest of her commercially released recordings?Electro said:Morgunner said:lpv said:hi.. the link won't work here.. what's the song?

Excellent choice of music! I have seen Ane Brun perform live twice and she is absolutely amazing especially when she is with Tonbruket .

You may also wish to include a recording with a dark green DR rating.
I don't know , songs live 2013 is only available as a download .
This is why I have become sceptical about the value of this DR database, the Cd "It all starts with one" sounds like it has a very wide dynamic range, the impact takes your breath away and is very close to how it sounds live .

how blind are you going to do this?
also, how loud?
lpv said:you know what set ups we're having.. do you have any ideas on how to connect the 3 so we can switch instantly from one to the other and to another?
Agreed. If you're not sitting in exactly the same place for both products, the end result might not be comparable. Even a few inches can make a difference (she said).thewinelake. said:Switchover doesn't have to be "instant" as such, but it would be good to have someone else do it!
lpv said:seems like a simple solution for our comparision... we can use my macbook: optical out to avi, usb to devialet, usb to hegel..
steve_1979 said:Just make sure that everyone brings as many RCA, USB and S/PDIF cables as possible to maximise you're options. You don't want to get there on the day and find you've limited you're switching opitions due missing one crucial cable.
Also if anyone has an AV receiver bring that along just in case. They can make handy switch boxes.
thewinelake. said:So are the systems going to be kept as pairings of amp+speaker, so we have:
infinteloop: Devialet 200 + Focal Electra 1008Be (£3,500?? + £3,000)
lpv: AVI DM10 (£1,500)
andrewjvt: Hegel H360 + ATC SCM11 (£3,400 + £1,200)
All driven from a MacBook Pro running iTunes with lossless CD-Rip outputting via optical/USB to integrated DACs?
And all systems that have cables will have "decent" speaker cable, and all systems will have "decent" stands of their own and have the same tweeter height? Or will the AVIs be on Ikea plant pots + crochet books?
I include estimates of standard pricing, although one suspects that (other than AVI) these are subject to up to 20% discount if you negotiate well!

The proof of the pudding is in the eating - if someone tells you that your cake stinks, but you shouldn't bother comparing - then alarm bells ring.
Although I'm in grave danger of becoming an AVIian, may I respectfully suggest that you try to behave!
Andrew
It most certainly is not a wind up!
That email came from Ivan as described and it pretty much mirrors what everyone who hears them says.
One of the biggest driver manufacturers in the world visited us, designed us special drivers and then the owners bought a pair. The email from Ivan is their eventual response. At first they couldn't understand why they sounded like headphones. Then they realised.
