Earlier I moved my right speaker about 6 or 7cm closer to the left speaker for no other reason than I noticed the stand had a very slight lean due to a tiny bump in the carpet. Visually started to annoy me. Sat back down and shock. Vocals have moved about 3 feet closer to my listening position. Everything has tightened up and sounds fuller and sharper. Bass has become very solid. Not even a subtle difference. I had what I thought was a pretty good stereo image and was never aware of the speakers but this is crazy.

always been a fine art, like you say a relatively small distance change can sometimes be the difference between good and bad.
