Auidolab taking the crown? Remember there's still the new Musical Fidelity being launched shortly to crash the party. But it seems the Brio has finally been relegated.

I am using the old 6000A. Great amp. If the new one is better it certainly gets my thumbs up.
Not sure if inclusion of gadgets make it a better amp.Out of the box it has HDMI, and a newer DAC chip.

More convenient for some I guess.
So it may be but a second-hand 6000a may still be a better buy for some. They have made technical improvements inside besides the DAC. Arun was emphatic it's better sounding than the Mk1. It's also 100 quid cheaper than the Brio.

"Technical improvements" needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Great thats its cheaper as "improvements" normally means more expensive.
I would think of it more like this Improved at the price point/ the same for less
I would question why hdmi is a big draw in a budget amp.People who want to buy new will buy new. Your statement doesn't make sense at all. HDMI is a big draw, as the DAC will be a big draw in the new Brio.
Any secondhand purchase will 'be a better buy for some', as one's budget permits. But you seem to discount the improvements on the new models, audio and otherwise.

You might as well get an AV Receiver
And no, minor improvement does mean this amp is a better buy than a second-hand original if you really are on a budget.
Lesson amp gives you more to spend on speakers and that's where it really counts.
I believe you have completely missed my point on your efforts to promote this new amp.1. Dear AI Ears, my first draw to the 6000A Mk2 is the improved sound quality which Tarun in his review confirms. So you obviously do not believe the Mk2 sounds or could sound better?? If you don't let's stop this discussion and no need to read this comment further as you've made up your mind already.
2. You would question why HDMI is a draw in a budget amp?? Well HDMI is prevalent in much more expensive stereo amps too FYI. Why people like me want HDMI in stereo amps is because we don't want the additional faff, expense and space taken by a full AV setup, but would like the convenience of enjoying the sound of a TV through our hifi when watching a show or movie - or perhaps in your purist stereo world you'd rather cut your nose to spite your face?
3. 'Lesson amp gives you more to spend on speakers and that's where it really counts'. That may not be true all of the time for all people. And I repeat again, if no-one has bought these amps before, you'd rather point them to the secondhand older models?? So in your world no-one would buy new hifi?
what? And you say this factually. no?
Sorry, I misunderstood your comment.what?
Dude you're getting more for less! what you arguing about im agreeing with you!
yet I'd still take an NAD 316bee v2 and a wim pro over this audiolab, and have change for speakers
But if you're going to be a co%k about things like AL im off.
