my resolutions are to stop spending money trying to obtain a better sound
that may sound different,, but not always better
and get back to enjoying my music not listing to the hifi.

Totally and utterly agree dvdaudio. That is why everyones resloution should be to join the music streaming services revolution and open up a whole world of new music to listen to. OK, so the sound is maybe not quite to CD standards, but it is still very good.

I am presently listening to some excellent metal by a band from Thailand. Find that on CD.

JohnDuncan:JoelSim:I'm not going to buy anything for my HiFi in 2010*. There, you heard it here first. *this is a lie

I'm not. I have everything I want now.

Of course I reserve the right to amend the above statement should I move house and 'need' to buy something such as longer speaker 'wires'.

Mine is to buy my first proper hifi system, probably based around a NAD 315 or 326 amp and some XTZ speakers. Can't wait as all i've got now is a PC 5.1 system running in 2.1 and I don't the sound is very good :-(

To not visit any household with a crispier hifi setup than mine & listen to music on their system that I also have in my collection. Then, there will not be the teeth-grinding/furrowed-brow session that ensues upon returning home & comparing the same music on my inferior setup, which, in turn, always leads to a malignant dose of upgrade-itus.

Hmm, looks as if I won't be out much in 2010...
