I will soon know on Tuesday - I want the issue fixed so the platter does not wobble and motor pulley lined up or a new deck that is right!

How is the amp now?
plastic penguin said:Chebby mentioned something similar earlier in the thread, along the lines of demand for their product seems to be having a knock-on effect when it comes quality'.

Got everthing cleaned up with alcohol ie subplatter/underside of platter that comes in contact with sub asembly
I may be wrong - but it could possibly be the sub platter - The GT & Gus's subplatter display more wobble than the Rega Sub Platter, however it is quite minimal on the Rega sub - grrrrr serves me right for tweaking
Thank the lord for digital, my stress levels have greatly reduced!
Not feeling JITTERY then?

These things shouldn't really be happening and Naim and Linn both prove that it is possible to get it right. It isn't just hi-fi - the British built Nissan I had until 6 months ago was full of squeaks and rattles which pushed me back in the direction of VW Group.
Definitely food for thought.

WTF first I've heard can you enlighten us all?
plastic penguin said:chebby said:plastic penguin said:It would make a refreshing change to read you Rega fanboys are actually listening to the music rather than constant tweaking. As I've always said: If it ain't broke, leave the EDITED thing alone!
There are two camps here PP. The people who have had problems with their Rega kit and are genuinely frustrated with the company and the others who simply want to get the boot stuck in. (Because Rega are successful or British or they are fed up with hearing about them or whatever.)
Yes there are two camps, a little different from your version. There are those that feel the need to "mess" with a turntable. If you buy close on a £1000 TT it shouldn't need tweaking. As I mentioned on page 3, if it isn't good enough straight from the box then bin it and buy something that doesn't need all this preening.
The second camp i.e. me and other non-Rega owners are rejoicing how lucky we are: Six years with a EDITED old Pro-ject and only changed the cart a couple of months after buying it and NOT a hint of trouble. Bliss.
Perhaps Rega are over-hyped. Maybe even you have bought into the brand Rega... maybe old gossey, goosey has dropped a big'un.
The more I read about Rega the less I'm convinced.
