daveh75:No, the oppo fanboy's have been behaving on the other site!!!!!

Yeah, it's getting a bit boring over there lately, not enough arguing going on!

See what I mean, much more fun over here!

Clare Newsome:I'll have a wild guess that the 'other Forum' aren't being unjustly accused of being 'industry stooges' though. Sigh.....

Boink.

Although the 'other forum' reviewer has said he's actively working with Oppo to fix bugs and suggest firmware modifications....

Will Harris:
Neither do they delete posts, censor threads, prevent mention of said other site's name. They let people talk, which is what a forum is for.

I don't know how you manage to continue to post on such an oppressive forum, when the land of milk, honey and liberty beckons you so strongly.

Will Harris:
That they review kit is a bonus, but they don't make money by selling
them, or their magazine as they don't have one. They're solely for the
forum members, of which there are many, as they're seen as a benign
organisation.

Now, where's that picture of the score of the 'Hallelujah' chorus?

Honestly, Will, are you amazingly naive, or just amazingly dumb?

Try asking the owner of this selfless utopia how much he'd sell it for - should, of course, you fancy running Will Harris Forums instead of trying to run Will Harris Sound and Vision.

Self edit time Mr Everard .(oh and the answer is both)

I've been reading this thread for a few weeks. Is it just me, or is this Will Harris bloke insane?

JohnDuncan:Ravey Gravey Davy:I would suggest Anafranil.

I loved her on Brookside.

Admit it, you never watched it - you've just seen this on YouTube on loop:

Will Harris:For the record

Thanks for that.

Will, why do you want to see the review so badly? To aid the Great British Public in its buying decisions (bearing in mind that the vast majority are waiting for the £50 Tesco BD players before they dive in) or so that people will see you are a man of taste and prescience? What happens if it's three stars? Are you going to give it back because you've been robbed?

You bought it. You love it. We get it.

Eh? Eh? No, I watched it, but I had never considered looking for it on youtube. I'll be back in twenty minutes (probably less).

D.J.KRIME:

I am very interested to see a review for the oppo but I do agree there is no point in publishing a review for a product that I can not then go and buy as it is not avalible yet thus really rendering the review pointless.

Well, I will give you another reason. In Denmark there will be one (or maybe two if we are lucky) retailer of the Oppo. Because of all the hype of this player (yes, we see it in Denmark also...) this retailer has already recommended people to pre-order if you want this player witin a couple of months after the release. The list is already long.

As I would like to see at least one relaible reveiw before I buy, as I will not get the chance to audition, I am likely to be delayed in the potential purchase.

I of course respect the policy of WhatHifi, and reviews from this mag is some of those I trust the most. I will therefore await the review, but I am just frustrated it will delay the purchase of what I think will be my first Blu Ray player.

Not at all - just making the point that what Will thinks is the 'people's forum' is in fact a business, and one its owner thinks is worth millions.

Good- if I have one frustration on this site,it is the extraordinary patience shown by the WHF staff in the face of complete ********* ( fit any word you like) when people talk ******. Yes,it has to be done but only to an extent.

We do our best, though a lot of electronic tongue-biting goes on behind the scenes. Apologies if we occasionally lose our cool under extreme provocation
