I remember reading that article not long after it was published. So it's that specific television, then.

Gordon's seriously good at what he does, so I'm in no doubt the picture will be exceptionally good (better than anything I've seen).

2016 models will likely still offer comparable (and in some areas better) performance, for less money. It'll be interesting to see how this year's LG OLEDs handle near black material.

I'm not saying it's a bad purchase; but if I was absolutely determined to buy a large screen OLED TV, I'd probably wait for review of the incoming 2016 models. What did you get by way of warranty, Gel?

Best make a note of the all the calibrated settings, mate, unless the TV comes with a full ISF report.

As several people have said. Gel has just spent quite a lot of money, and I really hope that he is happy with it and keeps it for long time - at least two years!

That's a special tv studio mastering quality.

If your not happy with this your never be happy with anything

Cheers! That's the plan.

A lot of people are missing the fact that this tv will be stonking even if it doesn't do full hdr brightness

I guess hdr is going to take a good while yet anyway to be fully worth having. All the 4k early releases are old films remastered it's when the studios start shooting to take full benefit like 3d it's taken years

Yep, my LG OLED is seriously good, and I mean seriously so this is going to be great!

The panny will be a significant amount better than your LG, make it look like a toy imo and much bigger if your getting the 65" I think you are

Yep.

Ah, I see now, gel, thanks. But what I wrote in my post #106 was two years, and it's a bit naughty of spiny norman to change that to two weeks ....... I do get his joke about how long you will keep your new Panasonic 65" 4K OLED though ....

To be fair to Gel, at least he has (somehow) kept his LG 980W OLED for 17 months. There's someone called zAndy1 on the AVForums who seems to change his televisions at least every 12 months! And arenaman has spent £25,000 on televisions over the years, see post #100 and the next five of this thread https://www.avforums.com/threads/what-would-someone-pay-for-a-panasonic-60zt65-plasma-tv-now.2012921/page-4#post-23271236

Yep, and I am upgrading in size too. The Limey has been through two since his LG 55EA980w and now he is on the Panasonic too.
