Gel, over the moon for you mate, should be a great set.  Not sure it's worth the price personally but if your happy then all is good.  Just make sure you keep this one yeah.  I hope it's not an impulse buy like I've been reading the last few months.

Where is it being calibrated, I do hope at yours and not the shop?

Also are you planning on spending £30 per movie for 4K discs to watch on your nice new 65" 4K OLED TV now you have ordered a player as well.  Do you have Netflix or Amazon Prime currently?

Rocket
Hi mate, cheers!   It was calibrated at the shop, but I don't mind I quite like the calibrated settings I was using on the forums anyway.  Worse comes to the worse I will pay Canary Jules to do the calibration again.  Just bought two new movies The Martian and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  Don't do Netflix or Amazon Prime.  Might watch a few movies on Netflix if I can get it to work!  *smile*

What's the point of buying the Martian and asm2 on 1080p blu ray when they will be out in the next (hopefully) few weeks to a month on 4k?
I bought them on 4K.

from uk? or imported from usa? because they aren't out yet in UK..
Imported.  It's a new trend.  *smile*
If you had bought the Samsung 4K blu ray player instead, you would have got a free 4K disc of The Martian.

I don't think the Samsung has HDR?

To put things into perspective, for that amount of money, I bought a PJ, PJ screen, gel's plasma TV, 11 speakers, AVR, stereo amplifier and Oppo 103D blu ray player.

That's quite a list of components to equal Gel's new TV - or maybe mine in the future .....
Yup, but you'll have to be fast if you want to buy gel's Panasonic OLED.....12 months tops :D
*biggrin*. Probably right, the new Panasonic OLED might tempt me.

Gel somehow thinks a 4k player won't include the most important part of 4k..he spends more time looking at TVs than researching specs!

I don't know which 4K Blu-Ray player to get. There are reports the Samsung has issues but apparently a firmware update has fixed this. The Panasonic matches the TV but is out a month later.

Paying launch price is something that I've done for only Blu-rays, never for electronics. And I've not bought a new Blu-ray (within three months of release) for over three years.

I don't normally pay full price for anything, just feel like treating myself.
