Gel, over the moon for you mate, should be a great set. Not sure it's worth the price personally but if your happy then all is good. Just make sure you keep this one yeah. I hope it's not an impulse buy like I've been reading the last few months.

Where is it being calibrated, I do hope at yours and not the shop?

Also are you planning on spending £30 per movie for 4K discs to watch on your nice new 65" 4K OLED TV now you have ordered a player as well. Do you have Netflix or Amazon Prime currently?

Hi mate, cheers! It was calibrated at the shop, but I don't mind I quite like the calibrated settings I was using on the forums anyway. Worse comes to the worse I will pay Canary Jules to do the calibration again. Just bought two new movies The Martian and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Don't do Netflix or Amazon Prime. Might watch a few movies on Netflix if I can get it to work! *smile*

What's the point of buying the Martian and asm2 on 1080p blu ray when they will be out in the next (hopefully) few weeks to a month on 4k?

Just heard next Thursday to be precise.

So just how is your new 65" Panasonic 4K OLED being transported to Milton Keynes from HomeSound in Edinburgh? And I presume the LG 980W OLED will be travelling in the opposite direction?

The Panasonic is a truly great machine, but I do hink that it's overpriced, even if Richer Sounds now have it at £7,000, which is £1,000 less than its initial price in September.

Speaking of Gel's impulse buys, would you believe that only TWO DAYS AGO Gel was asking about buying a Pioneer Kuro 500A! https://www.avforums.com/threads/pioneer-kuro-krp-500a.2012500/

£7000 !!!! Did someone seriously say £7000?

For @&#% sake man it's a #%*&ing TV. What were you thinking?

I am obviously in the wrong bloody career.

To put things into perspective, for that amount of money, I bought a PJ, PJ screen, gel's plasma TV, 11 speakers, AVR, stereo amplifier and Oppo 103D blu ray player.

Chebby, four months ago you were even more in the wrong career, because its price then was £8,000, it's now a grand cheaper!

In posts 91 and 93 of this thread, http://www.whathifi.com/forum/tvs-and-projectors/today-what-hi-fi-and-avforums-reviews-panasonic-65cz952b-4k-oled?page=5 gel explains that he paid only £6,250 for his new Panasonic OLED.

Speaking of expensive televisions, I'm hoping, in about 15 months' time, to get something like the Sony 75XD94 or the 75" LG Signature G6 OLED. Whichever one it is will be my final TV purchase in this current phase of technology, and possibly the last of my life. I'm expecting to pay up to £6,000, but it won't be an impulse buy!

That's quite a list of components to equal Gel's new TV - or maybe mine in the future .....

Given how the latest in TV technology is so ephemeral, then I'm truly sorry you have such a short time left with us.

You've just made me chuckle, man! But seriously, after I buy my next TV in about 18 months, that will be that for the foreseeable future, I won't be rushing into 8K or anything!

if i was going to buy my last ever tv (or second last etc) i would wait as long as possible for the best possible tv to come out so i will be set for a long time, i'll be waiting. year after year after year..waiting for the best tv then my time has come! and no tv..

you can probably tell i like the best (even though i dont want to pay for the best) and don't like having "old" tech!
