Hi folks,

Wondered if anyone can recommend the best way(s) to get live gig alerts of upcoming bands/artists playing?

Ive got an app (Songkick), which is good, but have noticed I don't seem to catch all gigs I'd like to go see...

There must be other methods I'm unaware of. Can anyone suggest some good ways please?

Cheers,

*nb I'm not affiliated to SK in any way.

I'm sure Spotify sends me gig/concert alerts of artists I'm interested in,also when browsing through artists, their current or next tour itinerary is available to view . ticket Web also send me alerts as I've used them in the past.

I have Spotify premium which I use via my iPhone > Hifi.

Strange, as I don't see these alerts. Are you using Spotify on a laptop? If so I'll have to fire mine up and see if there is additional functionality I was unaware of.

Cheers,

Yeah.I get the links on my phone through Spotify premium.I also get emails for up and coming shows near where I live....even though they can be slightly off.

In the Spotify settings you need to switch on the relevant notifications in the notifications tab.

Spotify Premium has a "concerts" link next to the artist you have searched for and those you follow that shows any upcoming live performace, it also links to ticket sellers.

Or you can browse all concerts linked to everyone in your playlists and near you which in turn have links to ticket sellers.

Or just sign up to all the ticket seller upcoming events you can.

I am not sure if you get the option on a phone but you definitely get them on PC and tablet .

Nice one. Thanks both.

Didnt have right settings on Spotify, didn't even realise that was an option!

The Spotify gig alert seems pretty decent.
