We need a cable thread.

... use of the word little. It should be small.
Thank you BBbigboss said:Welcome back, David! All the best with your new venture!!
I did, they were great. As always, bass was a little overdone, but the sound was pretty good.chris_bates1974 said:Good luck indeed...
Did you enjoy Placebo? I was at their Nottingham show the other night - thought they were pretty good. A small number of weaker moments, but really great to hear all the early hits... and I never tire of The Bitter End.

Well done David, that's all I could find, what will your business be selling?
I'm sure someone will oblige... :whos going to give me discounts at Frank Harvey now?
Cheers David, I will have to look at this facebook page now, if I can find it.davidf said:gel said:https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10479130

Thanks. Website will be up soon - I put together three websites, but none really came across how I wanted them to, and some will be better further down the road. I think I've nailed it with my fourth though - simple and to the point, nothing busy and messy like many are. There's a page on Facebook with an early teaser photo (the demo stock in the pic is mostly my own stuff as I was playing with room layout.

I prefer their earlier stuff too. In fact, the first half of the gig I was just wishing they got on with it so I could hear stuff off their debut album. I like their other stuff, but like most bands, it moved more mainstream - I prefer their early, energetic punk based rock. Unfortunately, two of them were played at a less punky pace, although it did suit one of the tracks better (36 Degrees).
Korn on Sunday...
Thanks!Replicant666 said:Hi David, Good to see you back and looking forward to the new website. Wishing you all the best with your new venture. The Kef LS50s with the blue cones on your Facebook page arent the new wireless ones by any chance, if so what are your thoughts?
ps Like the profile picture, is that in anyway a hint in case people ask for big discounts ;-)
Yes, that was nice, and the opening tribute to Leonard Cohen was very well received too.chris_bates1974 said:I agree... Quite often I find that bass is overblown at gigs and the vocals too quiet. Luckily, not the case this time. I last saw them in Leeds three years ago, and enjoyed that show too. I do agree that the more energetic part of the show is the better, and like you thought the 36 Degrees version worked well. One of the highlights for me was Without You I'm Nothing, with the lovely nod to Mr. Bowie.
Thanks! And it's Thursday, not Sunday, getting my days mixed up.Anyway, enjoy Korn... My next planned show is Iron Maiden in June....

It has taken a little while to sort that out, but now it has, I can post as normal. I'm fully aware of what I have said on a number of occasions about posting here whether I was working for a retailer or not, and I was even aware of that given the circumstances.Gazzip said:I don't personally know the guy, so I may be wrong, but surely he was only posting here for and on behalf of HiFix to generate business, which equates to sales commission? Ergo it was his job. Why therefore would anybody expect him to post on here again?
No offence taken. I was just making things clear with regards to an earlier comment from gel, and this statement I've made (on several ocassions) was at the forefront of my mind for the past month since I left FH. I wanted to post in the meantime, but the username wasn't appropriate. Unfortunately this has now been rectified just at the time I get back in the retail saddle!Gazzip said:...but you are a retailer, unless I have misunderstood what the Little Audio Company does, right?
Anyway, I didn't mean any offence by my comments so hopefully none were taken. Welcome back.
Thanks nopiano. It definitely won't be easy, and there's a lot to learn. I'm aiming for this to be a little different to conventional retail, and it'll be interesting to see if the location is a help or a hinderance. Cool area though with all the bars and restaurants, along with some specialist retailers. Easy to get to via any type of transport.nopiano said:Hello again from me too, and very best wishes for the new enterprise. It's a tough old world for anyone running their own business, but I'm sure you've got the experience to do well. Good luck!
Nice to think you thought of me as impartial...plastic penguin said:Welcome back David. Hopefully now people will stop calling you Frank. *unknw*
I only started up the thread to get some impartial advice on turntables, as I'm looking upgrade the Xpression. Heard a few of the big names around £600-£1000 budget and although good I wasn't over impressed. The only caveat to that is I haven't heard any at home on my system. Any pointers, though, would be appreciated.
Cheers, PP

The thread has been an interesting read, and a little annoying at not being able to reply sooner
Which ones did you hear, if you don't mind me asking? And with which cartridges?
