You're happy with your HiFi system but you feel it could be tweaked further to give its best.

I'm delighted with my bedroom HiFi and wouldn't consider an upgrade but I feel the high frequencies coud reach better highs by the inclusion of a ribbon tweeter unit (pair) below.
You add a subwoofer to compliment the speakers low end and the same is true for the opposite end of the frequency spectrum.

The feedback I got from other peoples comment that it enlarges the high frequency envelope, more detail and better enhancement of the top end. The Dali Oberon 3's is about to get a side kick, like Batman and Robin, the dynamic duo.

Well, will see how much this makes a difference when these arrive in two weeks time :)

Yes I like to tinker with things and in certain scenarios better to play around your existing speakers, to get the best out of them than to replace it wholesale. Not all upgrades go to plan, it may sound better in certain areas but is compromised in others.
So if you're happy with your speakers, do nothing but if you got the itch, don't upgrade, TWEAK IT!

Any of you wish to share your experience, where tweaking had a positive outcome or the complete opposite.

I'm perfectly happy with my kit 'as is'. It took me a while to get the Rubis sing, since I found it's sweet spot, that's it. If it isn't broke...

The best upgrade is don't use the hi-fi for a couple of days. If played too often I find it's hi-fi overdose.

hi-fi overdose
I like that :)
You're right it always seem to sound sweeter when you don't play it too often.

Before you consider adding to your system, how well positioned are your speakers, and can you improve on that? Speaker positioning is often a problem in bedrooms.

It's very tight Andy, if I had room I would have positioned it better. Speakers would be further apart and away from the wall.
Even so, the sound is mighty fine, no qualms. The Oberon 3's and the Atoll IN100 are perfect match.
I'm just exploring the idea of adding these high frequency tweeters, hopefully this little experiment will yield some enhancements in the higher frequencies.
Listening to other peoples favourable comments, curiosity got the better of me, let's see how it goes. :)
