Hoping someone can tell me please if my Sony 32 v2500 HD Ready LCD panel (1080i) can play back blu-ray pictures and can it handle 24fps, or do I have to have a 1080p panel to play both of these types of source ?

Any help would be appreciated

Many thanks.

Your V2500 will show blu-ray and it will look fantastic, even though it won't show it at full 1080p. At 32" I doubt you would see the difference between 1080p and 1080i anyway. It can't handle 24fps but that won't cause you any problems. Although now discontinued, the V2500 is an excellent set and I would see no point in changing it at this stage.

You just have to have the Blu-ray player set to output a signal which is compatible with your tv ie. 1080i/60Hz. Your tv will not accept the feed from your Blu-ray deck if the deck is set to output at 1080p/24fps. Just make sure it is set right.
