Which TVs would be an upgrade over my current Samsung S90C in terms off brightness in performance?

I am mainly looking at SD and HD?

After my spectacular fail in buying the Samsung S90D as an upgrade to my Samsung S90C, when clearly it wasn’t an upgrade in SD and HD, I figured I should go back to asking the experts? Thanks

In most cases all TVs increase in brightness and performance via each generation, however, the difference is never that great, so stick with what you have until it is at least 5yrs old and then have a look at what's available, otherwise you will most likely be disappointed.

Hi Bill,

What about changing technology from an OLED to QLED or Mini-LED for brightness in SDR and HD?

Actually I have thought of and have the solution by sticking the OLED on dynamic mode it just looks like our Samsung QLED now. 🙂 Problem Solved.

So I ended up buying the Sony Bravia 7 to go back to Mini-LED again. It’s not too bad reflective wise, sound is great and the picture quality is more to my liking. One of the main things for me is the brightness is very good even better than QD-OLED in a sensible picture mode and the blacks are very good too.

My last Mini-LED was the Samsung 75QN90B and that went faulty with the common Samsung bug which is the screen going blank and you still hear the sound. The blacks weren’t pretty good in a dark room though, and my new Sony has improved upon that. And the best thing is I can watch the news channels all day long if I wish to or game on it which I don’t wish to. Big thumbs up from me. 👍
