Very disappointed with Panasonic 42PZ85B

Cooney, I have the same problem with Solihull and want to buy the same TV. They have price matched at £993.00 and also want £65 squid for delivery because I live in Hednesford, Cannock. Did you receive free delivery m8? If anyone else is getting the same tv can I have their reference number for the £950.00 deal please.

I would hazard a guess that you have been subjected and used to garish colours from your LCD panel, which in my eyes looks terrible. It seems nigh-on impossible to get naturally saturated colours from an LCD full-stop. In retrospect a plasma display will look almost 'dull' in comparison as it has the ability to produce natural colours, as opposed to overly bright overly saturated ones.

Did the screen settle in? You do have me slightly worried as I had my sights set on the TH-42PZ80 to replace my current Hitachi C32WF810n CRT set...

hi just ordered the pz85 with jl bluewater .they priced matched well sort of with sound and vision.i paid 993.08.got 5 yrs and delivery.

Have now ordered the 42PZ85 from JL in Solihull, price match @ £970.80, although S&V are now doing it for £928..

Sorry PDBAXT, have just spotted your question. Yes I got free delivery from JL Solihull, I live in Great Barr by Junction 7 of M6.

JL send people from their Cheadle branch to S&V approx. once a week with a list of required PMs and ask them to confirm the ticket price of each product that is on display. S&V are very slow at updating ticket prices but do offer the sets at their internet price automatically. This is why JL keep quoting inaccurate prices and will always state that prices are volatile and move up and down. S&V prices for the PZ85 have only dropped over the last 6 weeks!

JL customer service does seem to depend upon whom you happen to have
answer the phone to you. I have been trying to get a further price
match for over a week but they kept saying that S&V shelf price is
£993. Called again today and luckily got through to a very helpful
woman who got her Manager to agree with today's S&V advertised
price of £950.

I suggest that you contact them, point out your frustration at the constant need for phone calls and quote the £928 price. Ask to speak to the Manager and if necessary point out that you are aware of other people (myself) securing the set at the current price that you can walk into S&V and purchase at. PDBAXT, also ask them to throw in delivery as this is part of the S&V deal.

Please be persistent and state your frustration at the level of service being dependent upon who answers the phone!

For the other posters who have already bought/ordered the set from JL at more than £928, don't worry. You can request as many price matches as you want up to 28 days from receiving your set. This is exactly what I done.

[/quote]You have 28 days from purchase date to do further pricematches. Current S&V price is £928.

[/quote]As prices are drifting down, wait till, say, 21 days after your original purchase date, phone them up and just say you want another pricematch.

It wont be a problem. I actually had two refunds on the same TV within the 28 days.

hi rewerb,thanks for your advise .you have save me 43.00 as john lewis have said that i can have it for 950.00.they also said if it goes down futher i can phone them and they will refund the difference .there cheadle branch goes to s and v every week so they can check the price match,and as you told me its now 928.98 i will be looking at another refund.thanks again you are a star.....i just like to say i have only been on his forum for about two weeks,and the help i have received from everyone has been great (including clare john etc etc )thanks again martin
