Hi Guys,

I've just effectively been gifted a very old Eclipse semi auto belt drive turntable TT430 as well as a load of records. I would love to set something up in my new flat, however I have never used anything like this before and know absolutely nothing about this kind of stuff if I am brutally honest

The player doesn't have any speakers, and Im just wondering firstly how do I check it works (I've plugged it in and turned it on and it spins and everything) and secondly what speakers do I get to go with it? Will it work in any old amp with these leads?

Sorry I'm such a noob, this is my first foray into vinyl and I really have no idea what I am doing :p

You need an amplifier with a phono input and a pair of speakers.

I would assume you have an MM(agnet) cartridge on your TT so look out for one which at least has that. Some do MC(oil) too. Alternatively you can purchase aftermarket separate phono stages which will connect to any line level input of an amplifier.

Regards
