Sorry for the delay, but here we are. I think this may be David and Richard's first vote, so in case they haven't seen, simply give 3 points to the film you'd most like to see, 2 for the second, 1 for the third.
I've gone for what I think are three fairly well known films from the early 60s but that had passed me by until recently, and if that's the same with other members then I think there's a lot in each of them to enjoy and appreciate.
(1) Peeping Tom

Directed by Michael Powell of Powell & Pressburger but vey different from any of their films. Brilliant portrayal of the central character by an otherwise obscure actor. Fascinating, troubling insight into the mind of his character.
(2) The Trial

Orson Welles' take on the Kafka novel. Anthony Perkins in the lead just after Psycho. Incredible opening voiceover by Welles and opening scene. Not straightforward but genius filmmaking.
(3) Jules et Jim

Having done a (very) little digging into the French New Wave this is my favourite so far by some distance. Something for those who love cinema history or who love a great narrative plot. Central three cast members have great natural chemistry between them.
BBB, did you win the bet with Jules et Jim?
I look forward to seeing the votes
