I've just googled him (Dominique Piñon), he was in Alien Resurrection, also in Amelie, but I've not seen that in ages. Feel like I need to.

I thought you meant Brian Glover.

How are you getting on with watching Delicatessen JD?

It's set in a nightmare post-apocalyptic world, where people have to eat there fellow humans to survive-very similar to Bradford I understand.

I bought the blu ray, and to be honest, it's hardly a step up on the dvd for sound or picture quality.

Just watching Les Diabolique, so far I'm quite fascinated by it, just pausing to write this and answer another thread.

I'll report back, but it's looking like an absolute classic.

Finally got round to watching Dracula (Coppola one). Have to say I'm very disappointed. I understood it to be the closest to the book, but tbh it's a pale shadow, the books brilliant, this isn't.

For such a high profile cast the acting was poor. FFC had every one of them over acting for all they're worth. Gary Oodman was the only exception but even he didn't totally escape it.

Doubt I'll be watching this again.

Sorry to gatecrash your thread but something, perhaps for BBB on Friday night at 9.00 on More 4HD a new Norwegain drama called Mammon, part 1 of a six part series. No idea if it's any good, I've just seen a review in our TV mag. We will give it a try.

Now I leave you guys to your films, enjoy.

I watched this a few months ago, brilliant film. Some great twists and a quality ending! Don't normally associate France with good horror but it proved it can be done.

I did hear something about it, but thanks for reminding me.

I wouldn't really describe it as a horror, but you're absolutely spot on about the film, much better than I thought it would be, and a great ending.

I managed to watch Delicatessen over the weekend.

It is still a cult film in France (well at least with young software developers).

So Mike, JD, and myself have definitely watched it, and I think David and Richard may have, so over to you Ben. 😉

Hopefully later in the week. Visitor Q was dispatched today so hopefully will arrive tomorrow and I then need to find time to watch it.

Oh yeah, absolutely no rush with Delicatessen, this is the review I'm looking forward to. 🙂

And for anyone else that might fancy watching Visitor Q, there's a very cheap copy on eBay (not mine I promise, I'd never sell it).

I warn you, an open mind is the minimum requirement for viewing.

No, you're probably right, it comes back to the point strapped was recently talking about that you can't pigeon hole films in genres (to paraphrase him!). I watched it without reading any description (apart from when I first added it to my lovefilm list, which was long forgotten) so had no idea of the type of film I was about to watch. A few years ago you might call it a 'chiller'? What would you call it?
