£13.50 for the Blu-ray here with the discount code:

I think I will pre-order it. Looks like the discount code only works on the 4K Blu-ray. £14.99 for the Blu-ray then.
Just about to buy it on Apple TV instead for £9.99 and 4K too. £24.99 the 4K disc still.

Shadow of the Vampire on blu ray - based on the premise that the vampire in Nosferatu is actually a vampire pretending to be an actor, with the connivance of the film's director. Not the best film ever made, but strong performance from John Malkovich as Murnau and Willem Dafoe as Nosferatu.

Documentary called Alien on Stage on Amazon - about a group of bus employees who usually do a charity panto each year, but did a version of Alien - and got to play it once in a west end theatre. Not an actor worthy of the name among them, but hard not to love the spirit, and the ingenuity of the special effects, given their budget of basically nothing. Typical plucky underdog story.

From Where They Stood on DVD, a French documentary about the photos covertly taken inside the concentration camps during WW2. It was perhaps just a little bit too long and a tiny bit too stylised, but the aim was to position the camera in the exact spot where these photos were taken. As they are almost all museums now, buildings/roads/paths etc are largely intact. Superimposing a monochrome image on glass in front of the colour image from the time of filming was quite eerie, especially when there were people moving around - made them look vaguely ghostly.

But to the three people taking selfies under the Arbeit Macht Frei sign, really?

50th anniversary of first screening this coming week.

Read a piece interviewing one of their shark wranglers, and the section where the shark destroys the cage was not planned, but then hastily incorporated as it's so dramatic. The 4ft11 stuntman wouldn't get in the cage, and she thinks that probably saved his life.

Just finally got round to watching Gladiator 2 in full and it wasn’t either on Apple TV where I first made the purchase, it was Sky! Really enjoyed it though it’s up there with Gladiator the first one for sure for me.

It was panned by the critiques but like you, I enjoyed it. The arena battle scene was a little OT, not as good as original but not far off.
I watched it a month ago on my IFlex streaming services, in 4k(ish) quality.

not yet seen it but I cannot recall ever seeing a sequel that was better than the first film.
Sequels tend not to be as good and yet some of the best *movies ever made are sequels: Films like The Dark Knight, (though not a big fan of men dressed up in latex), The Godfather Part II, Toy Story 3, The Empire Strikes Back, Dune II and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, were much better than the originals. There's more you can add to the list. Feel free to disagree! 🙂

* slight exaggeration on my part. 🙂

I will, I will.
I don't consider The Good, the Bad and the Ugly to be a sequal.
Haven't seen Dune II.

Just watched the Kneecap film. Not only is it hilarious, my opinion of the band has completely shifted. I always liked their take on Irish nationalism without the violence, but "Irish speaking, Belfast hip-hop trio" isn't something I'd ever rush to go & listen to.

Leaving politics aside, understanding a bit more about their background gave me a new respect for what they stand for (even though it's clearly fictionalised). Plus, they know how to write a catchy chorus 😎
