Test suggestion

Since most floorstanding speakers and speakers stands have spikes on the bottom... and also since many houses in the UK have wooded floors... would it not be a great idea to run a 'mini group test' on spike covers/floor protectors available such as the 'spike boots' as sold by Russ Andrews ...? jules.
 
Four pence is all you need. Stand each speaker spike on a penny - you're increasing the speaker's contact with the floor, but not by much - and you can save your lovely lacquered finish from ruination.

Cheapest solution on the forums, I reckon.
 
Very cool Simon. You've just saved me about 35 quid. Think I'll use 5p pieces instead tho. More expensive but I like the silver look. Plus the edges are rounder.Ta very much.

Hmm, the silver may give you a bit of harshness at the top end however.

Nah, I don't really follow the footie, although I do hail (originally) from the town of insurance brokery and mindless street violence.
