Speaker cable

I cant believe this thread is still going on.One thing i will add when i recently got my new Technics TT the power cable on it is the thickest power cable i have ever seen.Im guessing its to isolate the noise .
It's just thick to make it look substantial. Remember Monster Cables? They were just normal mains cables with an extra thick sleeve, nothing special, except the price.

You 'guessed' that your thicker cable was to 'isolate the noise' Shrek.
That's what you said.

I said that suggests that thinner mains cable would have inferior noise isolation.
It does suggest that.

Don't worry about it
That is what i said Gray, and it was a guess that its to isolate interference .
Sorry i wasn't sure what you meant ,text is not always the best way to communicate .

thanks Gray 👍

Have we been applying the wrong methodology measuring speaker cables sound signature?

If you follow ASR religiously this isn't going to change your opinion but listen to this guy, this is another perspective.

This is a shift from ASR inductance and capacitance, which is their mantle. This guy speaks about the aptitude, which is the conversation that challenges the orthodoxy, some cables are faster, some slower, intriguing stuff!

No one would disagree, cables are receptors, acting as antennas for attracting RF, and longer lengths of cable, the better the antenna. Obviously cables with better insulation would render the sound more faithfully, lesser degradation etc.

Over 32 speaker and interlink cables, 500 tests - as per below.

fundamentally HiFi should be about the enjoyment of the music.
Couldn´t agree more!
Music is the only reason I care about hi-fi, the reason why I care for anything technical about hi-fi
It´s a means to an end.
Personally I care more and are more interested in the process of making music (being an amateur drummer) and how it ends at my house: recording, mixing, mastering etc.
