Hi,

I recently bought some used B&W 705 speakers (3). One of them came with the B&W stand but the other two did not include them. I am trying to find a nice, heavy-duty speaker stands for these. B&W mentioned that they do not make these stands anymore (I assume being 5+ years old at this point). I tried out the Kanto SP26 BK stands, but they seem not that sturdy in my opinion (Crutchfield had recommended them). Can anyone recommend any excellent stands that would be great for these speakers? Flexible in regards to price, but looking at max, $500 for a pair of stands. (if there are others maybe a tad more expensive I might be willing to purchase if they are great).

What height do the stands need to be? This is crucial.
B&W still make alternative stands don't they? If you need to stick to B&W that is.
What is the height of the original stand?
You can't get much better than Partington Dreadnoughts.....

Hi,

Thanks for your response. The height of the one with the original B&W stand is 26 inches. The Kantos I ordered were also 26 inches.

I did speak with B&W and the service rep I spoke with said they no longer make the original B&W stand that came with that first series B&W 705. I did ask if they had other ones, but they seemed to say that none would be compatible with my brand? They were meant for the B&W 702 S2 and S3 models. Which I was a little surprised by. I would think the same manufacturer would have a compatible stand - I can't imagine unless they complete reconfigured the base of the speaker that it wouldn't be a problem.

It would, as long as the top plate of the stand is less than the area of the bottom of your speakers then any stand will do. They appear to be taking nonsense.
However, B&W Speaker stands are way overpriced. Look for a decent stand from other manufacturers but note most will be 24 inches.
Something like the Partington Ansa 60 or their Broadside would be ideal.
The B&W FS700 speaker stands are still available in the UK but they are £800.....
They are having a laugh.....
