rega brio 3 - speaker choice

Hi looking for a suitable speaker for for a Marantz cd48/Rega Brio 3 combo. Had dali Lektor 2 speakers . Although nicely detailed an good clarity but the sound tended to go right through you (hard to describe).Finding them hard to listen to for any extended period.Dalis been through run in period.
Right now using tannoy M1s but they are very limited.
I know rega speakers are obvious choice but are above budget. Price up to about £250. Can go used but rega speakers hard to find.

Persevere.

It really is worth waiting (either to save up the necessary extra money, or to wait for some Rega R1s or R3s on ebay).

They are not too hard to find. A pair of lovely Rega R3s went for £300 just today for instance. (Not mine.)

I've managed to find those in less than 10 mins. You are hungrier for them than I am. Get hunting.
