Decided on a sony kdl 47w805a. Low lag at 6 and a bargain from John Lewis at £999.00. Fingers crossed it will be ok. :)

Get John Lewis to price match it, at £849:

Hello Flashtokyo,

I've you've not already committted to the Sony 47W805a, you might also consider the Philips 55PFL6008S. John Lewis have this for £1,299, with a five-year guarantee of course. Using google, you can find good reviews of it on AVForums and expertreviews . I mention this in preference to your Sony because a 55" set is a fair bit bigger than a 47" set.

I thought it wasn't good! Perhaps there is more to this story than what we are seeing? :?

I'm sure there's more to the story, but the response from TC Hayes was very curt, instead of offering any explanation to restore the confidence on a very popular forum.

Yep, I have never seen anything like that!

It reads to me like a spoof post and not genuine...if it is indeed a genuine response from them then that is all the information you need to never shop with them and anyone who does needs their head examined.

If that is genuine then I am shocked at the language used and the attitude of the company, to be so childish and irresponsible as a retailer is quite frankly astonishing.

Why the extreme response? Thanks.

I think the response is genuine, given that the OP has been addressed by the surname. Only the OP can confirm this.

If that's the case then that response should be held up as an example of how not to treat your customers and goes to show just what a bunch of complete inept idiots TC Hayes are as a company, if someone at a senior level posts that on a public forum then they are run by a bunch of headless chickens who haven't got any sense of customer service!

If I was the OP I would be fuming at that response as it's simply an astonishing reply to a genuine issue, I can only hope that such actions lead to the company going out of existence as quickly as possible. What a bunch of *******.

I'm still not convinced that the remark was by the company. Of all the sites and all the posts and all the gt50 issues they just happened to read and reply to this one? Seems odd to me. Be good if we can find out though
