Hi,

I have discolouration, which is visible on black and white backgrounds of my TV. On the black background the screen looks slightly green in colour which is showing on the top left hand side of the TV down to the middle and on the right hand side it is showing the same, on the white background this looks yellow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have taken photos of the problem but am new to the sight, so unsure whether I can post them on this forum?

Many thanks

Jay

Or just copy and paste seems to work these days.

I seem to recall this was an issue on some early 50 series Panasonic plasma's. Some customers reported it disappeared over time from new, some didn’t wait and got the panel swapped. How long have you had the screen?

Hi Daniel,

The TV is 11 months old, apologies i'm still trying to upload these photos.

Kind regards

Jay

Hi Jay,

Based on my experience, it probably shouldn’t be like that after 11 months. Technically speaking you could cut out the middleman and speak to a Panasonic service centre and get them to come and have a look at it. Where do you live I may be able to find the closest one to you.

At last i've managed to put the pic on.... BSS came out who confirmed that there is an issue with the TV. Their engineer then ran tests, sent an e-mail to Pansonic saying 'no fault found'!! Pansonic said that this discoulartation is normal and they refuse do do anything. I have called and called Panasonic and they will not escalate my complaint. I will never ever purchase a Panasonic TV again!! I have spent £1400 on a TV set with a 5 year warranty which is not honoured. DO NOT BUY A PANASONIC TV!!!!

Others on here will be better placed than me to advise you of your legal rights in this situation, but what I will say, if you are certain that a fault exist, and you are not happy with the quality of such an expensive purchase, don't let them off the hook.

Free advice is out there to protect the consumer, use it.

Thanks mate appreciate it. So disappointed, to be advised that there is a fault by BSS and to for someone in the same company to run tests and then say 'no there isn't' is a joke'! It's like taking your car to a garage and advising that you can hear a noise, they plug it into a computer and say 'no issues'!!

The photos have confirmed that this is not normal!!! I have contacted Trading Standards, as Panasonic's call center
refuse to deal with my issue and refuse to put me through to a manager - GUTTED!!!

Going forward if anyone can advise me on what I need to do to resolve this issue, I would be most grateful. I cannot allow Panasonic to get away with fobbing me off!!!

Thanks
Jay

Something I've learned over the years, and from my experiences of working in music retail. If you just do not accept no for an answer, the shop will eventually cave in, it may take time, and you'll have to be a constant thorn in the side of the retailer, but remain polite at all time, and eventually you'll get what you want.

Before you take that advice though, listen to what the others on here recommend.

Thanks Bernard I appreciate you taking the time to resond. As Panasonic are refusing to deal, they told me to take it back to the shop. I'll do this and leave it with them for them to be able to respond to Panasonic. Hopefully trading standars will fight my corner - I won't let this lye!!

Thanks again!!!

Thanks for coming back to me however, Panasonic have all the photos and all of the information, Because their approved supplier BSS at first confirmed there was a fault an then said there isn't they are refusing to deal with it.

Oh dear another recipient of Panasonics glowing customer service :wall:

I've been here myself with my GT30 debacle and gave up with them, I'm in a good position to advise though. How old is the TV??

What I will say for starters is that you are far better off dealing with your retailer than you are with Panasonic who it has to be said have a very poor reputation for dealing with complaints such as these and as standard like to state that "it's within tolerance" or something similar. If the TV is under 1 year old the responsibility lies with the retailer to repair or replace the TV, if a repair is carried out and that doesn't solve the issue then they have 3 attempts before you can start to demand a replacement or refund.

Who is your retailer? You mention a 5 year warranty but who is this from...Panasonic?? When did you buy it and with what form of payment?

If you could answer those questions I would be better placed to help, don't give in just yet as I'm sure we can all help you get a resolution. There is a vast knowledge base on these forums and quite a few of us have been in this exact position ourselves.
