Pioneer PDP428XD Background Noise Problem

Hi All,

I bought the Pioneer about 15 months ago now and am very impressed with the TV overall. Unfortunately the power supply seems rather noisy (giving a constant buzzing sound). I've had it into the Pioneer engineers and they say that it's within tolerance (if the tolerance levels are so lax I'm a little disappointed with Pioneer!).

Has anyone else had a similar problem, or any tips on how to fix it?

Pioneer with a problem.........impossible.

It's a known issue. There have been threads on it in this forum as well as others.

Apparently ClareNewsome was getting in contact with pioneer about it but I don't know if she has or if they have replied.

I'm getting mine delivered tomorrow but wont have any chance to use the set till probably next week. I'll post on any problems (or not) then.

Again, I dont think that your problem is at all acceptable for what is a premium product. I hope mine will be ok but if it is'nt it will go straight back. Did you contact the dealer you bought it from for a replacement when you first noticed?

I haven't noticed the problem as I watch TV with the volume on so even if there is a buzzing noise, it is probably not loud enough to be noticable. Is this really a big problem, i.e. will the sound cause the TV to explode or anything?
