Hello everyone

I have been looking to buy a LED television. Have done lots of search about different telies but at the end i think i want philips, as it looks beautiful, picture quality is also good and most importantly its ambilight feature looks stunning. The 9705 model review got 4 stars where as 9704 got 5 stars. Here i am confused which one to choose. I dont care about the freeviews built in or not, but picture quality and overall look is a priority. Would appreciate any sort of help from any one.

Thank You.

Do consider that tho the Philips can produce a beautiful puicture, it does require tweaking to do so, and from my experience (of the 32" 9705), it requires tweaking when you change between DVD, Blu-Ray, Freeview, and even between some TV channels. I found that after a week or so with the TV, I found this a lttle tedious.

If you're happy with constant tweaking, they do produce a beautiful picture.

Hello,

I have the 9704 and it is a very good tv. M&S was doing the 9705 for £599 with a five year warrenty a few weeks back but they have gone now. Some people bought a few are selling them on the fleebay at a profit. Which I don't think is right.

My 9704 has banding when I watch footie when the camera pans, but for most of the time it's great. I set it up and the only time I change the setting is when I play my PS3 as in game mode it reduces lag.

I guess this years 9705 will be an improvment over my model but many people around the net are complaining about banding and buzzing coming from the ambient light.

Philips should be replacing their sets soon with this years model. If I was you I'd see what they bring out first and if you don't like them then you get an even better deal on the 9705.
