Newbie.... Advice needed please re home cinema system

I have just bought a Panasonic TH42PZ85, Sky+ and have a Denon 1930 DVD player and a Sony STR DE475 speaker system.

I am now in the market to upgrade my home cinema and have a budget between £200-£300. Could i please ask for some advice on what options are available to me. Is it worth keeping the Sony or is there better alternatives out there in my price range.

Any suggestions much appreciated

Ok, I'm confused! From what I can see, the Sony you mention is a receiver. So what speakers do you have? And which part exactly are you looking to upgrade?

The speakers are sony ones that came with the receiver, 4 smallish ones and a larger center speaker. I'm looking at acquiring a better surround sound. The DVD player is fine for now as it upscales to 1080p. All the home cinemas i've briefly looked at include some sort of dvd player.

Am i probably best acquiring a new AV receiver and some better speakers?
