Matching Bookshelf Speakers with My Audiolab 8000c and 8000p

POWER AMP: Audiolab 8000P

CD Player: Technics SL-PS70

I bought this equipment at a stupidly low price and being a hifi lover had to buy them. I currently cannot afford to partner them with equipment they deserve. Would any like to give some advice on second hand speakers and cable that would do this system justice. I did use them with Heybrook HB1's but they got far too excited with this equipment so sold them.

I am thinking second hand TDL's, JPW (Yes cheap but dam good) and maybe Cable Talk cable

I like my sound secretly powerful, sweet and tuneful. I do like bass but the bass needs to be tight and punchy. I dont ask for much do I.

Also; what music do you generally listen to and will the speakers be on dedicated stands or on bookshelves etc...?
