Floorstanding VS Standmount

Looking to replace my old Mission V63 (large fllorstanding speakers) but can't make my mind up between floorstanding or standmount, I am looking for a bit more refinement / detail, nothing boomy or bright I prefer a slightly warner sound and listen to female singers, a bit of Queen, Stereophonics and dramas. Would welcome your views, room is fairly average and my budget is £600.

Size of room is important but I would look at PMC DB1i, GB1i or some Proac's secondhand; at price should be priority for sound quality.

FWIW. Here are my thoughts about what to consider when making the decision:

- Room size/layout

- Personal preference - Floorstanders have more scale and impact, whereas Standmounts usually sound faster and image better.

- Floorstanders have more inherent problems and are costlier to build/design, so on a tight budget (new), I would be looking at standmounts.
