Bootcamp problem for iMac (Black Screen)

I have the current 21.5' iMac, entry level. I received my copy of Windows 7 Home premium today, and started the installation through bootcamp. All went well up until the final completion stage of the installation, it rebooted ok, however after that it was just a black screen. The next stage should have been the windows set up stage. I have heard of the Black screen, during bootcamp, and found a complex fix on Apple's site. Have any members come across this problem, if so how does one get past this problem. My Mac has snow Leopard, and all software was up to date prior to the installation attempt.

Providing it connects directly to the USB port and the osx finds it, yes.

Thanks again Grotty, installation successful, it took longer completing all the windows updates.
