Hi

I have Mordaunt short Aviano 1's which i like alot

am looking for an amplifier upgrade and here are my choices:

Marantz PM6004

Marantz PM6005

NAD C326BEE

NAD C316BEE

DENON PMA720AE

Yamaha AS500

Cambridge Audio?

I mostly listen to pop music with quite a bit of bass

i dont listen loud just at normal/moderate levels

i am looking for something with tight controlled bass and nice warm sound

any thoughts?

Of those I would listen to the Marantz PM6005, Denon PMA720AE and NAD 326BEE. Each should suit the Mordaunt Shorts.

I recently purchased the Denon PMA 720ae at a bargain 245 Euro. I'm loving this amp paired with my Bostons Acoustics A25 speakers. Bass is tight and clean compared to my previous CA Topaz A5. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I would go for the Denon PMA-720AE or the Pioneer A-30. You can get these very cheap these days and both amps sound amazing ;)

Hi,

I would certainly add the Temple Audio Bantam gold to your list, excellent sound but it only has one input. Simplicity seems to be the key to its excellent sound, very good in the bass and soundstaging. Worth a home trial? Absolutely.

If you wanted to tweak with it you can add a sealed lead acid battery to improve things, it really packs a wallop.

I'd probably go for secondhand, slightly older and make the most for my money. Think Marantz PM7200, Harman Kardon HK6550, HK6850, Exposure 2010, to name a few. Try Gumtree, some killer deals there and max out your buying potential.
