Hi there i am just re-wiring my speakers (KEF 2005.2) and SONY 1200 ES Receiver are Banana plugs worth while investment or not? also are they compatable with my system?

If your speakers allow the cable to be connected direct, then I think the general consensus would be to do exactly that. There will be 1 less connection to worry about.
