No idea, I may have a listen tomorrow bit it depends what time I wake up, I'm on a night shift tomorrow so I'll be trying to sleep most of the day.thescarletpronster said:I hope those Björk pressings are OK. Are they the coloured vinyl ones from this year? I bought a copy of Biophilia, and it was VERY crackly. Thankfully I've recently managed to track down an original, which is far better.
Of course not, as some may buy to collect and keep sealed. But, the amount we have sold, some would certainly have been opened and played by the local people (and some not so local) who buy from us, and they know that they can bring them back if there are any problems, and yes, we have had some problems, just not with any Bjork titles as yet.thescarletpronster said:That doesn't mean they weren't dodgy. I didn't take back my copy in the end, because it's just too much hassle. I'm hoping that, as they are 'limited edition' and gimmicky coloured vinyl, I'll eventually find someone willing to pay more or less what I paid for it, in spite of the crackle.
David@FrankHarvey said:The press release for the Queen box set states that they're using some new material/formula that doesn't have the drawbacks of conventional coloured vinyl - it'll be interesting to see how well that works. If it works well, let's hope others adopt it.
And yet I've read of "audiophile" releases on white vinyl that claim better sound quality due to not containing the levels of iron that black vinyl contains, iron being a magnetic material that interferes with the coils in the cartridge....stevebrock said:personally sort of glad i havent bothered with the coloured vinyl Bjork reissues - i dont like coloured vinyl IMO sounds inferior
Something also mentioned to me by an owner of a turntable manufacturer. Same with clear vinyl, I believe.The_Lhc said:And yet I've read of "audiophile" releases on white vinyl that claim better sound quality due to not containing the levels of iron that black vinyl contains, iron being a magnetic material that interferes with the coils in the cartridge....stevebrock said:personally sort of glad i havent bothered with the coloured vinyl Bjork reissues - i dont like coloured vinyl IMO sounds inferior
