This'll get BBB choking on his porridge, just picked up Björk's Vespertine and Medulla on double vinyl reissue to go along with the Post single LP I picked up a few weeks ago.

Also got the latest Ozric Tentacles album, Technicians of the Sacred as well.

I hope those Björk pressings are OK. Are they the coloured vinyl ones from this year? I bought a copy of Biophilia, and it was VERY crackly. Thankfully I've recently managed to track down an original, which is far better.

That doesn't mean they weren't dodgy. I didn't take back my copy in the end, because it's just too much hassle. I'm hoping that, as they are 'limited edition' and gimmicky coloured vinyl, I'll eventually find someone willing to pay more or less what I paid for it, in spite of the crackle.

Of course not, as some may buy to collect and keep sealed. But, the amount we have sold, some would certainly have been opened and played by the local people (and some not so local) who buy from us, and they know that they can bring them back if there are any problems, and yes, we have had some problems, just not with any Bjork titles as yet.

The press release for the Queen box set states that they're using some new material/formula that doesn't have the drawbacks of conventional coloured vinyl - it'll be interesting to see how well that works. If it works well, let's hope others adopt it.

Indeed - or rather, I'd prefer it if manufacturers gave up on coloured vinyl and went back to black.

And yet I've read of "audiophile" releases on white vinyl that claim better sound quality due to not containing the levels of iron that black vinyl contains, iron being a magnetic material that interferes with the coils in the cartridge....

Something also mentioned to me by an owner of a turntable manufacturer. Same with clear vinyl, I believe.

Just ordered Ghostpoet - Shedding Skin.

My wife found a copy of 'Super Bad' by James Brown in a charity shop yesterday, so she's earned a few browny points.

Good day today. Been given a promotion, and got the afternoon off. Naturally I headed straight home to tell the missus (via the record shop...)

Alice Coltrane - A Monastic Trio

Bristol Reggae Explosion 1979-1983

Cocteau Twins - Tiny Dynamite/Echoes In A Shallow Bay

Just pre-ordered Steven Wilson - Transience

Time to start listening! *drinks*

Got a bit bored, so just nipped out to the local charity shop, and found a mint copy of The Telescopes - Taste for £4. *smile*
