Last Tuesday we had the inauguration of the new king in Holland. It is custom that everybody brings out their old stuff to sell on the street. Among others I picked up a near mint copy of Sgt Pepper (only the original inner sleede missing) for EUR 1! Also:

And some local Dutch stuff called Dolly Dots, which brings back childhood memories.

All for around EUR 20 in total.

Funny you should say that, I bought Dust Bowl on vinyl a couple of years ago and it was very noisy, totally unacceptable for a new LP. Sent it back and got the CD instead.

The Vienna Opera house one for acoustic music. Also try 'Driving towards the Daylight' if it is available on vinyl and for earlier stuff the Live at the Royal Albert Hall. Actually I do not think any of his albums are duffers! 🙂

Did anyone else watch today's Fake Britain programme, on BBC1? Vinyl is one of the latest victims of large scale fakes, so look very carefully at your prospective purchases. Sleeves, etc, are often of very high quality, but there are some pressings which, according to their expert, have pits which can damage styli. They're often coloured vinyl, which have never been issued. And they're usually of high value rare items.

If it's available on I-player, it's at the end of the programme.

Caveat Emptor.
