Worth upgrading TV to 1080p

As I bought my TV back when HD ready was the norm - I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading my TV to a decent 1080p set.

If so what TV would you recommend for around £1000 budget?

Sorta depends what you're going to be watching and the screen size you're considering...

I'd be using it mostly for Blu-ray movies, and size wise possibly a 40/42" 1080p set

At that size then yes it's worth considering, but try to see Blu-ray on your current set and then on the ones you're considering, and see whether the difference is worth it for you.
