Thanks Andy - and when I do come on, it's always good to see things are pretty much the same though (see above post)

Like a comfortable pair of slippers 🙂

You're right Professor. Nothing changed here.......people still give their opinions about certain issues 🙂

Isn't the real issue the pretty obvious fact that this actually isn't a hi-fi forum at all!

Chris

So what is it then Chris??? Lol. ( I have my own suspicions on that score. Summat to do with "Gadgets n Widgets". )

Can I just say I think slippers are over-rated.....

Dear God man! Opinions are one thing, but that statement is just plain wrong!

I've got some north face slippers that are goose down filled, they are super cosy. Don't knock it till you tried it.

May I recommend M&S "Thinsulate" slippers? They keep your feet as warm as toast.

Chris

PS I told you it isn't a hifi forum!

Well to be honest I'm not quite sure what it is! It's quite good fun a lot of the time though.

To me hifi (the clue is in the name!) is about the accurate reproduction of recorded sound. Simple really!

Probably got pissed off as the website is bloody awful, twice have tried to do a post and it then just disappears...copy & paste doesn't work....grrrrrrrrrrrrrr...............will look for other hi-fi forums to discuss my problem!!
Not good.

The lack of 'copy and paste' is indeed a major pain. Much of the unreliability of websites like this can be overcome by writing a long winded post in 'Word' then copying it across. No good if 'copy and paste' doesn't work.

My rambling 'Sonos journey' post has just disappeared somewhere.

Copy and paste does work but its a 2 stage process which I don't see the point of.

This forum is sort of like the one available cafe next to the large food court inside a small shopping center.

So 99% of all the threads should go in "off topic and miscellaneous" then. Yep. I'll go with that 1 Chris.

TBH, I gave up offering valid "HiFi" comments a long time ago because no-one seems really interested anymore. Another reason I don't come on here much now plus this really awful website drives me insane. And people call my sites 'clunky'. Each to their own I spose.

I do read a lot of the posts on this forum, but I'm no expert. Most of my equipment is of another generation either bought new back in the day or second hand.

I enjoy what I read though where I live we have no local hifi dealer, we used to have 'Erics' hifi in Bradford but that went years ago. Also my disposable income is not what it once was.

If I can chip in on a thread I will do, but when it's about equipment I've never heard then I feel that I should just be a reader not a participator.

I do appreciate any replies I get from the threads I've posted though!

Cheers!

It really isn't a 'dedicated' Hi-Fi forum like Wigwam, PF, AVS, AVF, DIYAudio, Audiokarma, Audioasylum etc. It's just a small temporary place to sit and contemplate your shopping. It's a hi-fi shopping forum.

Best description I've seen yet*good* . . . However when I first came on, I recal, it seemed to have more 'how to and descriptive' content?

It's a hi-fi shopping forum. Not the place for serious indepth specialist discussion about the black magic of stereo high fidelity.
Well at least it's nearby and the drinks are cheap.

Very true.

The modern way of choosing hi-fi is to pick the items you feel have 'maximum bling' then look around for some 'validation'.

No wonder many decent dealers have just packed it in, the market gets what it deserves, in the UK this means Sevenoakes and Richers.

Good luck with that.......*nea*

Although I don't often reply to them I'm always interested in your comments. I'm interested in the comments of anyone who's been working in the industry for years and has good knowledge and understanding of what makes hifi stuff tick.

I do get the feeling that some members here are more "fashion" orientated than "sound" orientated. I just listen to stuff and buy what sounds right.
