I've a following system now:
Rega P5 - Rega Phono - Chord Chameleon - Rotel RA-1520 - Furutech U4.1 - Rega RS5. Also I have Rotel RCD-1520, previously connected via Chord but now I've bought Ortofon FV-305 and it seems to me that sound improved slightly.
So, I'm using this system already for 7 monthes and I can state that I'm disappointed. The sound is absolutly flat, toneless and lifeless, with changing to Ortofon it became a liitle bit smoother. I knew that Rotel+Rega is not a good partners but for that time I had a good offer for RCD and RA so I came for it.
So, the main question for the moment - what should I change in my system in order to improve it?
Should I go for the CD change first (Rega Apollo?) or it better to start with amplifier (Naim 5, Naim XS, Roksan?)? Actually I don't have a great budget for my system so I need to enhance it step-by-step. What's the most important thing to start with? What can you advise?
