If you were starting from scratch what is your preferred set up under £5K?

£100 is (more than) enough to pay for all cables - no matter how much the system costs.

Well for me I would buy me a Marantz PM 12 SE Integrated Amplifier and PMC speakers or Spendors. I'd keep my CD player and get it overhauled.

That's what i would use for a good systems

Giving this some more thought... I'd opt for a good pair of powered speakers with decent connectivity and a WiiM Pro streamer. Add my CD player and turntable and I'd have a nice compact system with good sound and plenty of change. Eventually I may ditch the turntable and/or CD player and make it even more simple. I'm feeling a bit 'done' with all the boxes.
