What difference does a Furutech connection make?

Hi,

Hope somebody can help.

I am looking at 2 cables around £60 for my TV and Sky HD box.

First is the Wireworld 5 as recently reviewed in WHF - 5 stars - combined with a Fig 8 adaptor.

Second is a Cleareraudio - Silver Line Alpha with Fig 8 'Furutech connection.'

Does anybody know the difference and purpose of having a 'Furutech' socket over a regular Figure 8 adaptor?

Looks fancy but don't know what it does.

Thanks,

Furutech are a company/brand who specialise in making mains connectors, like Wattgate - as opposed to the normal, unbranded type of connectors fitted to basic mains cables. Furutech, like Wattgate, place great emphasis on the tightness of connection, as well as the plating on their plugs pins/connections. In theory, it should give you a better mains connection than a standard, unbranded plug, and so should, in theory, sound better.
