svs pb 2000 pro vs 2x sb 1000 pro

Ok i am about to sell my pb 2000 pro and get 2x sb 1000 pro. My question is will these 2 give that same oomph in movies like pb 2000 pro does. I have untreated bedroom and tried sub crawl many times and used rew but failed even after audessey i was not hearing any bass in my MLP. In the end i had to buy dirac live that did wonders. SO should i proceed to sell pb 2000 pro My room is squarish 11.70x10.70x10feet

Based on my recent conversations with SVS, very unlikely.

You can actually contact them directly via SVS website, they respond within 24 hours usually.

This was their response to me:

"For a room of your size and a home theater application then a ported would be recommended. Sometimes customers prefer the output/style/aesthetics of sealed subwoofers over ported.

In order to achieve the same level/depth/output needed for home theater with a sealed subwoofer you need to go MUCH larger on the driver to achieve these results. Ported subwoofers pressurize the room thus making it easier to go really low, sealed has to work harder and start with a larger driver to match the ported movie output.

If you want to explore a sealed box subwoofer then you would need to look at the SB16 or SB17 for your room/application/placement."

My room isn't big either (16' X 12'4"). I think what he meant was, to match the performance of PB 2000 Pro which is a ported subwoofer, you'll need to go much larger if you were to go for a sealed subwoofer.

Before you spend any money or selling your excellent subwoofer, I would recommend you contact SVS directly with your issue for advice. They're quick at responding.

yes you are right sir i already contacted them they said to add 2nd one but thing is i have limited space i can put it in front left side to right of left speaker just like my current one is from right wall new one will be of same distance from left wall will be good?. 2nd will be added to this black marked area . this will also be exactly same from back and left wall as my current one is from back and right wall? will they not cancel out each other?

Really good subwoofers come with phase switches and really really good ones variable angle control knobs.

Google explains it better than I can but basically the short of it is it controls the timing of the cones and makes them all move as one.

"A "phase angle" on a subwoofer refers to the timing difference between the low-frequency sound waves produced by the subwoofer and the higher frequency sound waves coming from your main speakers, essentially indicating whether the subwoofer's cone is moving out at the same time as the main speakers' cones, allowing for a more cohesive sound by adjusting this timing with a "phase" switch typically set to either 0 degrees (in phase) or 180 degrees (out of phase)."

But if you have an AVR with bass management you may not have to do this. Its normally recomended to leave the phase at 0 though I alway tune it before running an auto eq

If you have got a PB-2000 Pro and are happy with the performance since using dirac live, the most obvious solution is another PB-2000 Pro.

Possibly overkill in a room that size, but the cabinet size and lack of ports will see a big drop off in performance in the lower octaves. The sealed boxes could reach lower, but the output would be so low, even with room gain, that you wouldn't notice. You may have to wait a little longer to buy a second PB but if you like the performance of one, two will give you a little more output across a wider section of the room.

In that size room, 2 x SB-2000 Pro might be enough for you, but only you can answer that.

this is my rew measurement after dirac live bass control and has nulls maybe 2nd sub will fill the null or not?

You have a big null around 77hz, which is close to the recommended crossover of 80hz.

Chances are a second sub would help with the null as the frequency response in a separate location will be different.

The more subs, the more balanced the bass across the room.

ok i can add another sub but can place in front only to the right of left front speaker. will it be good? it will be exactly same distance from left and back wall as my current sub is from right wall and back wall
