Speaker technology in the future

I'm just wondering how the experts think speakers will progress over the next decade or so? As companies bring out new products, can you envisage the technology they introduce representing the same sort of leap that we've seen in say TV's? Obviously, the introduction of HD sound has improved things for the movie experience but that's not actually anything to do with the speakers so older speakers are able to take advantage of this as well. Just wondering if there's anything big on the horizon or if it's mainly down to the technology that speakers are attached to that makes the difference. Obviously, some speakers are better than others but can we expect to see (or hear) a revolution in the audio world anytime soon?

From what I cant tell id say we will see a big increase in the ELECTROSTATIC speaker market in the not too distant future.
