I have finished at my new dealer today in Switzerland purchasing some B&W 802d with Classe Amplification at a great price.

It sounded fantasic I just need to wait 8 days now for it al to be delivered I am so excited. One oversight I have had is how to sel my old equipment because ebay is not really popular here in Geneva or well I will work it out.

That is a very good news!

BTW, what would be the complete set up?

I am a fan of Classe and enjoyed their SSP30, SSP300, SSP 800, CA 2100, CAP 2100 as well as CP800. Their amplification and pre sections are quite impressive!

That would sound wonderful! Especially the 802D with CA2300 & CP800. I guess it would be a great set up and would be lovely for most music and even more for classical music, IMO.

It looks like both the Digital and Turntable set up would play equally well. I wish you a great time in setting up the system and enjoying the music!

I think I heard a very similar system recently at Audio Venue in Ealing. At any rate it was certainly the big B&Ws powered by huge Classe amps. Very impressive indeed.

And just in time for Xmas!

so not the cheapest cables you could find then !

(unlike the basic copper efforts that are apparently all that is required according to some.......)

may i ask how does the system sound without the mains filter?

(many claim they do nothing.........)

interested to hear its effect on "serious" kit like what you have.

thanks for your reply !

Can't stop myself from saying something about the TV in the middle of such lovely speakers which I'm sure is not doing any favours for creating precise and stable imaging. My friend had the same problem and is thrilled recently after placing one of these tiny "sugar cubes" on the bottom corner of his TV screen which took his system up another level. At the risk of being branded a nutcase, I recommend you exploring these.

Lovely system, although I would say you owe it and yourself to look seriously at treatment for your room, it doesn't look ideal.

Enjoy!

Keywords: Control Finesse Definition Tuneful/musical Smooth Easy load (Easier than the DB1is IMO)

I now know that the RS6's problems ISN'T solely (IMHO) the hard domed tweeter. It's the midrange that seems to be tepid. The tweeter on the PMCs is just as snappy but the midrange is more textured.... and snoggable. The bass may not be as portly as the RS6s - just amazingly tunful. Really don't miss the MAs bass extension.
