Quad 12L2, B&W 685, AE22

I auditioned a pair of quad 12l2s and b&w 685s today....tough choice. I am also very interested in ae22s but cant seem to find anywhere to listen to them. does anyone have any comparison experience with any of the mentioned.

Sorry I can't help you here, but good call on shortlisting the AE's. They got a fine review for both the passive and active versions; do let us know what you thought of them.

The quad's are great speakers, but to me, the B&W 685's just has that all-round edge to it.

The AE's are stonking speakers but at the end of the day they are studio monitors and i have found that in the past; they dont always suit a normal home hifi set-up etc...

The B&W 685's are also superb speakers and will fit into a number of hifi set-ups.

What would be handy to know is what does the rest of your system consist of and what music do you listen to?
