QED Airlocs

I need(ed) some speaker cable for my Jamo a102s so headed to ebay to grab a bargain... ended up bidding on 1x1m and 2x2m of QED Silver Anniversary with banana plugs for £24.

It arrives today and it turns out that it is actually the XT cable and has airlocs on both ends of each cable, a pleasant suprise.

The dilemma here now is that the plugs don't go into the speakers, which I knew would be the case, but I thought I could use the unneeded banana plugs on the as yet unpurchased cables for the satellites. As they are Airlocs it seems that this won't be the case, do I really have to just cut off and bin 6 Airloc plugs? This seems like such a waste... anyway to salvage them?

Also any advice on the satellite cable? QED Micro? or anything that richer sounds stocks like the Cambridge Audio cables?

Oh, and a subwoofer cable... go with the one in the box or upgrade it?

Lengthy post but any help would be appreciated, thanks.

How come the plugs dont go into the speakers?

If it was me, id try and keep the cable and plugs as they are and find something that will connect between the plugs and the speakers

IIRC, although you can use 4mm plugs with these, they have to be really short, or they get caught up with the wall bracket - bit of a design flaw really...

i wouldn't cut them off, because they can be a bit of a mare to terminate properly afterwards (and will lose value if you want to resell). Presumably your speakers are spring-clip terminals, and you need to find an adapter from banana plug to spring clip (which I can't immediately find...)
